Social Justice Champion Award 2026
The Social Justice Champion Award recognises an individual whose leadership, advocacy and commitment have made a lasting contribution to advancing social justice within our community.
Presented annually by Community Industry Group, the award celebrates those who go above and beyond to create positive change. Whether through their professional work, volunteering, advocacy or everyday actions, nominees demonstrate a genuine commitment to promoting fairness, equity, inclusion and opportunity for others.
The award was introduced at the 2025 Community Sector Awards, with Val Fell recognised as the inaugural recipient. In 2026, the award will be presented at the Social Justice Luncheon, an event celebrating the people and organisations helping to build stronger, more inclusive communities.
We encourage nominations from across the community. You can nominate a colleague, volunteer, community member, or yourself. If you know someone whose dedication has made a meaningful difference in the lives of others, we'd love to hear their story.
Nominations close: 21st of August 2026.
The recipient will be announced at the Social Justice Luncheon 2026 on Tuesday, 22 September 2026.
Submit your nomination today and help us recognise those creating positive change in our community.
