This training is designed to gain a comprehensive understanding of LGBTQIA+ identies, and the tools to build interpersonal and organiusation - wide LGBTQIA+ inclusion. While this workshop emphasises the lived experience of LGBTQIA+ youth, it also explores the experiences of the general population and is suitable for all community sector workers looking to increase knowledge on LGBTQIA+ inclusion.
Outcomes:
A solid understanding of LGBTQIA+ identiies, including key concepts around sex, gender, and sexuality.
Definitions of trans and gender diverse identies, and why language matters
An introduction to pronouns and how to use inclusive language at work.
Practical tools to support LGBTQIA+ people interpersonally and professionally.
Insight into the barriers and discrimination LGBTQIA+ people face, drawn from Australian research .
Real lived-experiences shared by our expert workshop presenters.
While this workshop centres the experiences of LGBTQIA+ youth, the content and tools are relevant across the general population and suitable for anyone in the community sector looking to level up their inclusion practive.
