Courageous Conversations

Join us for this 3-hour workshop facilitated by Nicki Bowman.

This training is designed for Managers, team leaders, coordinators and frontline staff - anyone who needs to address performance, behaviour, complaints, boundaries or sensitive issues with clients, families or colleagues.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  • Prepare effectively for high stakes conversations by clarifying purpose, outcomes and boundaries.

  • Use practical communication tools (language, questions, listening and body language) to de escalate emotion and keep conversations on track\

  • Navigate power imbalances with staff, clients and families while maintaining professionalism and empathy

  • Respond constructively when conversations become defensive, emotional or stuck, and know when to pause or escalate

In this 3 hour, interactive workshop, participants will learn to build the skills and confidence to navigate tough conversations with staff, clients, clients’ families and other stakeholders. Drawing on best practice communication and de escalation techniques, participants will learn how to balance compassion with clarity so that difficult conversations protect relationships, uphold dignity and support safe, quality care.

Pricing: $50 per members and $100 per non-members.

About the Facilitator

Nicki Bowman has spent the past 20 years mastering my leadership craft working at Board and Executive level across multiple industries including law, mining, manufacturing, finance and IT services.

This has provided her with the foundation to intrinsically understand the impact that the right leadership can have on our ability to think creatively, to innovate, to adapt, connect and collaborate.

She has honed her leadership philosophy & methodology through studying practices all over the world.
