Community Industry Group, Western Sydney Community Forum, Inner Sydney Voice, and Central Coast Community Council, extend a formal invitation to in‑home aged care and community organisations to participate in an Aged Care Regional Symposium that connects Illawarra with other regions of NSW.
This is a one‑day, in‑person multi-site event bringing together in‑home aged care and community organisations from the Illawarra, Western Sydney, Inner Sydney, and the Central Coast. The four in person hubs will be digitally connected to create a shared experience across NSW. The symposium focuses on the practical realities of aged care reform, providing an opportunity for providers to explore common challenges, share evidence‑informed practice, and strengthen regional collaboration.
The event has a program designed to support providers to navigate change together. It will feature a keynote address from Professor Henry Brodaty AO, other speakers, and an opportunity for each region to consider their priorities, service gaps, innovations and to share these for a collaborative approach across the four regions.
Professor Henry Brodaty AO is an internationally recognised leader in dementia research, ageing, and mental health. A Scientia Professor at UNSW Sydney and Co‑Director of the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA), he has shaped global understanding of dementia prevention, diagnosis, and care. Named 2026 Senior Australian of the Year for his contributions to ageing and dementia research, Professor Brodaty continues to influence policy, practice, and community awareness across Australia and internationally.
